as some of you here,if not all of you know by now.Washington State has been having wildfires all over the state.in which someone from a different site has pointed out, that he lives there.and the wildfires is one thing that him and his didnt plan on.1 of them 22 miles away from their home with smoke covering the whole state, his cabin (their main bug out location) is a half mile away from one of the fires, their other bug out location all up in the hills further out from the cabin are now in trouble. If they needed to evac they would have no choice but to head into Vancouver Washington suburb (a 'city') It's a little hard to head out to one's bug out location(s) when everything is burning around them! Whats going on around them is forcing them to head to heavily populated area in case of evac. I think by now many of you already see where this is heading? Now, imagine this being in a SHTF situation...we have different types of communication devices that tell us what we need to know.am/fm radios with wheather freqrencies.GPS units to show us how to get from point A to point B..we can go to the store(s) for food,,water,1st aid supplies..and other needs.we can go to another state and stay there, untill the fire(s) are put out,or moved on.to where it's safe to go back home..(BUT) what if you cant bug out,on account a fire has blocked your only way out of there?what if a tree fell across the driveway or road?what if a fire crew has your only way out blocked?do you have another way out of there? like a old logging road,or a waterway?how about going cross country?do you know how to go from point a to point b if you do?are you able to avoid other fires?did you know, that the direction the smoke is coming from, isn't always the direction that the fire is coming from?so if smoke was going from north to south, don't mean the fire is in the north.mainly when you're in hill country with a whole lot of hills,and/or mountains..and smoke from the fire spreads out in every direction as it's being blown away from the fire.do you know how to read a compass and/or map?whats your choice of bug out vehicles?are you prepared to go it on foot if needed?how long can you handle breathing in the fire smoke?how long can the others handle the smoke?can you and the others transvers the route being taken?now i ask,how prepared are you?no not fully prepared.(not anyone of us) is fully prepared.but yet we at least love to think that we are fully prepared in some areas.but chances are, that we're not.there's only one area i can think, where we can be fully prepared.that is,knowing that we are NEVER fully prepared..and admitting to it..now i ask.are you prepared for wildfires, tornados, earthquakes and other things that nature can and probably throw at you? i know that im not.im not only not prepare for a tornado,in which i live in tornado ally.but we do have droughts here.and our last bad one.was in 2011.in which some fires did get to close for comfort to me.
