im sure at least most here,do certain things for preparing for winter time.like getting out winter clothes and jackets,to making sure their clean, and not smelly.to putting winter sheets n covers onto the beds.then there's putting the summer stuff away..i have a tote in which i keep winter and summer bed sheets, covers, and pillow case's in.i take out whats needed.and put in whats not needed.then there's putting away the mower(s) and other yard tools.but yet, some folks do things that need to be done.like covering the outside of the house windows with plastic, just to keep out more of the winter cold.even some folks close off certain room(s) during the winter, just to cut down on cost of living.then there's the cold/hot water pipes, they all need to be insulated during the winter.mainly whats outside.and leave a good tiny/thin stream of water flowing through each indoor facet when possible, just to keep the pipes from freezing.many folks rather not go out into freezing temps just to shut off the water at the meter..plus that can be a certain way to get sick, when you need to,the least..so if you get wet for what ever reason.get things done swiftly and safely as possible.then get dried off,and into dry clothes..the sooner, the better.
make sure your vehicle(s) are up to par.check and make sure the anti-freeze is the proper anti-freeze for winter, and your area.make sure the gas tank is kept full,as possible.that'll not only give you enough fuel to get some place with heat,if needed.but it'll help keep the fuel lines from freezing up as well..have at least 2 ways of jump starting the vehicle.like jumper cables and a rechargeable, and portable jump started.always keep snow chains on hand.cause who knows when you might need them? even if never needed them before, who knows?
different types of games to play..there's always different types of games, for at home and in the vehicle alike..even a game that yall don't play,is better then having nothing to do when bored..
electricity..mainly for those with central heat n ac..what if the electricity goes off,for any length of time? do you have a way of keeping your home warm?this can be done in different ways.even if it means keeping certain room(s) closed off,to the part(s) that you choose to keep warm.a fire in a fireplace or wood-stove (if you have one or both)...candles,oil lamps, space heaters(s) hooked up to a propane/natural gas,gas line.
the foods in the fridge and freezer..they'll need to be kept cold.having them in ice chest, and outside will keep those foods as is,until needed.but only if it's cold enough out..
